Latvia Industrial Output Growth Slows to 3% YoY
Industrial production in Latvia rose 3 percent year-on-year in October 2019. Easing from a 7.3 percent jump in the previous month. Output slowed for both manufacturing (1.8 percent vs 3.1 percent in September) and electricity & gas supply (11.9 percent vs 27.8 percent). Also, mining & quarrying production fell faster (-19.6 percent vs -15.5 percent). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production fell 2.3 percent, down from a downwardly revised 1.1 percent increase in September.

Latvia Industrial Output Rises the Most in 18 Months
Industrial production in Latvia jumped 7.3 percent year-on-year in September 2019, following a 2.0 percent rise in the previous month. It was the biggest annual gain in industrial activity since February 2018, as output advanced faster for manufacturing (3.1 percent from 0.3 percent in August) and electricity and gas supply (27.8 percent from 8.9 percent). On the other hand, mining and quarrying production slumped 15.5 percent, more than an 8.3 percent drop in August. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production went up 1.2 percent, after an upwardly revised 3.1 percent gain in the prior month.

Latvia Industrial Output Rebounds in August
Latvia's industrial production rose 2.0 percent from a year earlier in August 2019, compared to a 1.3 percent drop in the previous month. Manufacturing output increased 0.4 percent, boosted by fabricated metal products (20.9 percent), electrical equipment (15.1 percent), textiles (15.1 percent), and computer, electronic and optical products (9.8 percent). By contrast, output fell mostly for wearing apparel (-16 percent), beverages (-14.2 percent), and chemicals and chemical products (-11 percent). Electricity and gas supply jumped 8.9 percent while mining and quarrying contracted 8.3 percent. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output rebounded 3 percent.

Latvia Industrial Output Drops 1.3% YoY in July
Industrial production in Latvia decreased 1.3 percent year-on-year in July of 2019, after a downwardly revised 4.3 percent rise in the previous month. Output fell for both electricity and gas supply (-6.2 percent from 23.5 percent in June) and mining & quarrying (-14.9 percent from -12.6 percent). On the other hand, manufacturing production advanced further (1.3 percent from 0.7 percent). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output dropped 2.1 percent, down from a downwardly revised 1.5 percent gain in June.

Latvia Industrial Output Growth at 6-Month High
Industrial production in Latvia surged 4.4 percent year-on-year in June of 2019, after an upwardly revised 2 percent rise in the previous month. It was the fastest increase in industrial activity since December, boosted by electricity & gas supply (23.5 percent vs 2.8 percent in May). On the other hand, output growth slowed for manufacturing (0.8 percent vs 2.1 percent) and the mining sector continued to contract (-10.2 percent vs -3.2 percent). In the second quarter of the year, industrial production rose 1.4 percent compared to the same period of the 2018. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production advanced 1.6 percent, following an upwardly revised 2.3 percent gain in the prior month.

Latvia Industrial Output Rebounds in May
Industrial production in Latvia increased 1.7 percent year-on-year in May of 2019, recovering from a 2.4 percent fall in the previous month. Output rebounded for electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (2.8 percent from -22.6 percent in April) and went up at a softer pace for manufacturing (1.7 percent from 3.8 percent) while mining & quarrying production fell (-3.3 percent from 23 percent). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production jumped 2.1 percent, up from a downwardly revised 1.9 percent drop in April.
