Australia Q2 Wage Growth Unchanged at 2.3%
Australia's seasonally adjusted wage price index rose by 2.3 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2019, the same pace as in the previous period and in line with market expectations. Wages in the public sector increased by 2.6 percent, while those in the private sector grew 2.3 percent. In original terms, annual wages growth ranged from 1.7 percent for wholesale trade to 3.3 percent for health care and social assistance. Western Australia recorded the lowest annual wage growth (1.6 percent), while Victoria recorded the highest (2.9 percent). On a quarterly basis, wages advanced 0.6 percent in the June quarter, beating market forecasts of 0.5 percent.

Australia Q1 Wage Prices Rise 2.3% YoY, Matches Estimates
Australia's seasonally adjusted wage price index rose by 2.3 percent year-on-year in the three months to March 2019, the same pace as in the previous period and matching market expectations. Both wages in the public sector and in the private went up by 2.4 percent. In original terms, wage rises ranged from 1.8 percent for construction and information media & telecommunication services to 3.0 percent for health care & social assistance. On a quarterly basis, wages went up 0.5 percent, unchanged from the prior period and slightly below market consensus of a 0.6 percent gain.

Australia Wages Rise by 2.3% YoY in Q4
Australia's seasonally adjusted wage price index rose 2.3 percent year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2018, the same as in the previous period and matching market expectations. Wages in the public sector went up by 2.5 percent and those in the private sector grew by 2.3 percent. In original terms, wage rises ranged from 1.6 percent for the telecommunication services to 2.8 percent for utilities and healthcare. On a quarterly basis, wages went up 0.5 percent, slightly below the previous period and market consensus of 0.6 percent.
